چکیده

Background Patients with rheumatic diseases are at high risk for poor outcomes and gaps in care when severe fibrosis occur, as a result of tissue damage caused by chronic phase persistent inflammation. Only limited data also controversial results available on the predictors patients juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) long-term methotrexate (MTX) treatment [1,2] Objectives To evaluate serum levels basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) children treated methotrexate. Methods 104 polyarthritis (50,96%) oligoarthritis (40,38%) variants JIA (mean age 13.3 yrs, 59,62 % female, mean onset 7.2 disease duration 5.06 yrs) were included this 4-years prospective study. In MTX 75.96 (vs. 24.04 not MTX, 16,35 prescribed but they didn’t receive any dose yet investigation day). Among 4.81 had less than 10 mg/m 2 /week, 32.69 10-12.5 31.73 12.6 - 15 6.73 over /week. bFGF determined ELISA kits (Elabscience, USA). Serum analyzed depending patients’ gender, age, onset, its variant, duration, activity, presence dose. Levels erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (C-RP), circulating immune complex (CIC) antistreptolysin-O (ASL-O) Results We evaluated level (min: 4171.56 pg/ml; Me:7089.28 max: 18011.25 pg/ml). The average significantly increased from to 18 years versus up 3 (p = 0.009) 11–14 0.014). It was found higher an activity according JADAS-27 pattern low one 0.0005). Activity pattern, ESR, CIC ASL-O associated level. Mostly correlated (among: boys r=0.45, r=0.49, moderate r=0.58, r= 0.38, МТХ, 12,5-15mg/m2/week r=0.50 p ˂ 0.05), r=0.37, r=0.34, 10mg/m2/week r=0.96 ESR girls r=0.38, 0.05). Conclusion Children after old activity. corresponded Presence additional streptococcal infection impact formation JIA. References [1]Germolec DR, Shipkowski KA, Frawley RP, Evans E. Multicentric Carpotarsal Osteolysis Mimicking Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Background Multicentric carpotarsal osteolysis (MCTO), a skeletal dysplasia presents in early childhood mimicking juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Recognition of this syndrome is essential to avoid unnecessary treatment with immunosuppressive agents because of different course and treatment. Case Report A 3-year-old boy presented with swelling and restriction of right wrist joint and left ...

Temporomandibular joint involvement in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis

OBJECTIVE To determine the rate of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) involvement and find factors associated with TMJ arthritis in a single-center cohort of patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). METHODS Retrospective analysis of all patients with JIA visiting the rheumatology clinic between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2006. Followup information was included until August 2008. A...
